Mel Gosse
Director of Operations, League Savings and Mortgage Company
Mel has in excess of 45 years in the financial services industry, 26 of those years was within the Credit Union system, and brings a wealth of knowledge and a portfolio full of experience to the CUSOURCE curriculum when facilitating in the areas of commercial credit. As Director of Operations at League Savings and Mortgage Company, Mel holds the responsibility for the credit portfolios.
Mel began his career in 1965 as a teller with a major chartered bank in St. John’s, Newfoundland and over a 19 year period, held various credit related positions up to and including branch manager of large metropolitan branch. During his tenure with the bank, Mel obtained two year specialized training in commercial credit. In addition, Mel has worked in a chartered bank, for Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union, and for Credit Union Central Nova Scotia.
While in the role of Assistant General Manager of Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union, holding the responsibility of Personal and Mortgage Portfolios, Mel was instrumental in the introducing commercial services to its membership.
In 2003, Mel and his family moved to Nova Scotia and commenced work with the Lending Service Division of Credit Union Central Nova Scotia as their Senior Lending Service Officer.
