Fay Booker

Principal, Booker & Associates

Fay Booker is a trusted advisor to many credit unions and has expert-level knowledge in corporate governance and enterprise risk management (ERM). Her foundation as a trusted advisor comes from 30 years of experience earned as a partner in two of Canada’s largest accounting and consulting firms, as well as senior positions in two financial institutions.

Fay not only knows the theory but has developed and implemented practical approaches to governance and risk management for credit unions of all sizes across Canada. She has assisted many Boards of Directors in advancing their governance practices and has instructed on ERM concepts on behalf of CUSOURCE Credit Union Knowledge Network since 2005. Fay has created and facilitates ERM sessions for both credit union management and governance levels.

Fay held many senior executive positions before starting her specialized consulting firm Booker and Associates in 2004. These positions include: Partner, Deloitte & Touche, National Partner and Strategic Business Line Leader, Grant Thornton, Vice President and Chief Internal Auditor, National Trust, Director Internal Audit, CIBC and Director, Commercial Lending, CIBC.

Recently, Fay has concentrated on giving back to local communities. She currently serves on several local regional Boards and is Chair of the Board for Niagara Parks Commission.
