Understanding the System and Keeping Current on Industry Threats

Tricia Ronmark, Business Analyst, Grand Forks Credit Union.

I have been employed with the Grand Forks Credit Union for 12 years. Part of the investment in employees is furthering their education. Every year, each employee must complete the Anti-Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing course, and this year each employee must complete It’s A Matter of Privacy.

New Knowledge in No Time!

Brenda Bortolussi, Financial Service Advisor, Kootenay Savings.

Being a long-term employee of the Kootenay Savings Credit Union, I feel that it is always good to expand your knowledge base and learn new skills. I find CUSOURCE Knowledge Network easy and convenient with refreshers and new knowledge  in short periods to complete the learning.

Success and Challenges with Harvard ManageMentor Modules

Patty Rosby, Manager Financial Services, Westminister Savings.

I have just completed the following courses online from the Harvard ManageMentor Modules: Change Management, Leading and Motivating and Developing Employees. I found these courses great and will use the information as it is timely for our organization.
Lisa Clemens

Well Rounded, Convenient and Relevant Training

Lisa Clemens, Grand Forks Credit Union.

My name is Lisa Clemens, and I am a 30 year old mom and credit union employee from a small town in Christina Lake, British Columbia. I have worked at our local Grand Forks Credit Union for about 6 years. I feel so fortunate to work for the credit union for many reasons. I grew up in Christina Lake, a small town with few career opportunities, and even less in the way of educational programs or options for adults.

John A Mangone

Fulfilling My Commitment as a Director

John A Mangone, Director, Northern Credit Union.

As a credit union director, I have a responsibility to meet training and qualifications guidelines. Understanding my role and responsibilities as a director means a commitment to ongoing learning and training.

Sharon Montague-Jackson

Understanding Disability – Starting at the Front Doors

Sharon Montague-Jackson, Scanning Clerk, Unity Savings & Credit Union Ltd.

Having successfully completed the latest CUSOURCE online course, Understanding Disability and the AODA, I suddenly realised that I’m one of the customers with a disability!

Clarissa Bagnall

Learning to Assist with Day-to-day Member Services

Clarissa Bagnall, Branch Support Clerk, Oakbank Credit Union Ltd.

I completed my Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing course in a day. I noticed it has changed this year compared to previous years. I finished my test before I read the whole course. I passed but I really wish I would have done the test last. I found the course easy to follow.

Kyle Pitts

Less Butterflies. More Knowledge. More Confidence.

Kyle Pitts, Inactive/Dormant Accounts Project Coordinator, Bergengren Credit Union.

I work at the Bergengren Credit Union in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I’ve been working for the Credit Union for 4 years as of October 2, 2011. I started off as a Teller on the front line. I’ve also worked at our St. Andrew’s branch, as a Commercial Teller, Central Teller, Financial Services Officer (lending), and currently in a temporary position known as Inactive/Dormant Accounts Project Coordinator. I’ve also done a little work in our IT department as I have a degree in Information Technology.

Lori Boire

An Informative Highway Right at my Fingertips

Lori Boire, Marketing Clerk, TCU Financial Group.

I have been working with TCU Financial Group for almost five years and have always taken the mandatory courses through CUSOURCE Knowledge Network.  After a HR meeting with staff, I took a look at what there was to offer from CUSOURCE Knowledge Network and was totally thrilled that there were many exciting courses offered.
Julie McPhee

A Quick and Easy Refresher

Julie McPhee, Director, Payment Services Operation, Central 1 Credit Union.

CUSOURCE Knowledge Network has always been there for training and like an old friend can be called on when in need.  However, sometimes regretfully we take too long to call due to other distractions.

Lynn Prime

Taking the Plunge and Pursuing Your Goals

Lynn Prime, Human Resources Manager, Community Credit Union of Cumberland Colchester Limited.

Human Resources is a challenging field and more knowledge is always better!  When I finally decided to take the plunge and pursue my Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, I looked around for courses that would help me pass the first leg of the journey—the National Knowledge Exam (or NKE). The NKE requires you to dredge up a lot of the fundamental HR knowledge that you likely studied years ago and may have forgotten.

Dianne Rush

Tackling Anti-Money Laundering as a Team

Winner of August's Draw! Dianne Rush, Manager, Internal Member Services (Niagara).

I manage a combined team of fifteen staff under two departments. When we first started the online course Anti-Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing, it seemed it would take forever for all these people to complete – a lot of grumbling about not having time, too much information compared to the courses we had done previously, my desk is too busy to fit this in, too many distractions, etc.

Amy Skeggs

Putting CUSOURCE Learning to Practice

Amy Skeggs, Marketing Administrator, Rochdale Credit Union.

I have currently been with Rochdale for over five years, but started on the front line as the summer-student Member Services Representative. When I first was hired, everything was new to me. I had never worked in a financial institution before and only had a couple of part-time jobs.

Robert Boyd

Staying Connected Through Distance Learning

Robert Boyd, Financial Services Officer, Rossland Community Branch.

I work at the local credit union in a small town (3,000) in the southern interior region of British Columbia. I have worked here for 4 years now, first as a casual teller, then a member service rep, a loans clerk, and I am now temporarily filling in as a retail loans officer.

Diane Routledge

Procrastination: Getting Things Done With Just-in-Time Learning

Diane Routledge, Deposit Services Officer, Portage Credit Union Main Branch.

I am the queen of procrastination when it comes to online studying.  It is our requirement at Portage Credit Union to complete the Money Laundering course at least once a year and as usual, I leave it until the last minute.

Paul Johnson

Non-Board Members Can Benefit From The CUDA Program Too!

Paul Johnson, Associate Vice President, Project Management Office & Corporate Secretary, Coastal Community Credit Union.

About two years ago, I was approached and asked if I would become the organization’s Corporate Secretary.  As an AVP, I had been invited to attend board of director meetings in the past to present on various topics, but I really had no formal training as a Corporate Secretary and what this person did for the board of directors and the CEO.

Danielle Chubak

Fun, Fast and Easy Learning

Winner of July's Draw! Danielle Chubak, Human Resources Marketing Manager, Hudson Bay Credit Union Limited.

As a new human resource manager at Hudson Bay Credit Union, I had no previous financial institution training  before I got my current position. I used CUSOURCE Knowledge Network as a main learning resource tool at the beginning of my employment. Without CUSOURCE Knowledge Network, I don’t think I would have been able to learn all there was to learn in such a short period of time. It was interactive which made learning fun, fast and easy.

Lisa Loewen

Easy, Affordable and Very Knowledgeable

Winner of September's Draw! Lisa Loewen, Personal Account Manager, Access Credit Union - Winkler Branch.

I have been employed with the Access Credit Union for three and a half years now. I started out as an MSR which is where I was first introduced to CUSOURCE Knowledge Network. Taking the courses through your program has been a world of information in better preparing myself and making myself more confident in my work.

Julie Lesperance

The Challenge was Worth it

Julie Lesperance, Member Service Representative, United Communities Credit Union.

I enrolled in the Member Service Representative Accreditation Program about a year ago in 2010.  This program was recommended by my manager to enhance and further my knowledge of our products, services and our credit union system as a whole, as well, to further my progress to promotion to the level of Member Services Representative 2 (MSR2).

Brenda Puetz

Gaining an Abundance of Knowledge in a Short Time Period

Brenda Puetz, Financial Service Representative, Conexus Credit Union Humboldt Branch.

I have been an employee at Conexus Credit Union for 20+ years now.  I have taken courses that have been offered through the credit union, but have never taken anything where I have had to do it all on my own.

Rosa Raposo

User Friendly Learning Tools

Rosa RaposoKingston Community Credit Union Limited.

I started with Kingston Community Credit Union about 2 years ago. I came from another financial institution; therefore, I had experience of banking but not with a credit union.

Jeff McGuffin

Better Informed, Equals Better Service

WInner of June's Draw! Jeff McGuffin, Member Service Representative, Meridian Credit Union.

Since completing the MSR Start Series program, I was able to familiarize myself with the general duties of a Member Service Representative. Product knowledge, in my opinion, is essential for an MSR to best serve the member’s needs. By taking the Advanced Product Knowledge lesson, I feel I am going to be that much more capable of serving the members.

Mariana Hulsen

Building Learning Through Time and Space

Grand Prize Winner ! Mariana Hülsen, Training Officer, Northern Savings Credit Union.

I was first introduced to CUSOURCE Knowledge Network during my initial training as a fledging MSR in 2008, struggling with the nuances of large transactions vs. suspicious ones. As the job got easier, I found myself with a few minutes here and there during the slow times at the branch.

Colin Peters

Converting an Online Training Sceptic into a Believer

Winner of October's Draw!  Colin Peters, Member Services, Meridian Credit Union.

I have been working for Meridian Credit Union for the past 3.5 years.  Since working at Meridian, I have taken many CUSOURCE® courses. From helping out at different branches, I have seen a number of new employees start at Meridian.

Jennifer Maillet

Handling Estates – A Touchy Subject

Winner of May's draw! Jennifer Maillet, Représentante, services financiers (Financial Services Representative), Caisse Populaire de Clare in Church Point, Nova Scotia.

I have been an employee of Caisse Populaire de Clare in Church Point, Nova Scotia for 8 years. I would like to thank CUSOURCE Knowledge Network for training our credit union team on Handling Estates Effectively.
