CUSOURCE Knowledge Network Simplifies Transcript Reporting Process for SkillSoft Courses

February 25, 2010

CUSOURCE Credit Union Knowledge Network (CUSOURCE Knowledge Network) is pleased to announce the live automatic updating of SkillSoft course marks. This enhancement means that learners’ marks will be captured in real time in their training transcripts on our Learning Management System (LMS).

Credit unions asked for the ability to have their SkillSoft marks synced to their training transcripts and we listened; the live updating will commence on April 8, 2010.

What courses are impacted by this enhancement?

All courses in the SkillSoft eLibrary are affected by this enhancement. This includes any of the business or desktop skills courses and any of the Management Development Series (MDS) or Project Management Library courses that are now part of the SkillSoft eLibrary.

What does this mean for the learner today?

This means that any in progress SkillSoft course must be completed on or before April 6, 2010 at 6:00 pm EST. Learners have between now and April 6, 2010 to complete their courses. Completing their courses in advance of the enhancement will ensure their marks are reflected in their LMS transcript.

The progress in any incomplete SkillSoft course will be lost. All learners with a SkillSoft eLibrary user license will be contacted directly via email about the enhancement implementation. However, please share the news of this enhancement at your credit union and of its impact on any in progress SkillSoft courses. However, please share the news of this enhancement at your credit union and of its impact on any in progress SkillSoft courses.

What does this mean for the learner after April 8, 2010?

Once implemented, this enhancement will allow learners who complete SkillSoft courses to immediately track their marks in their training transcript and they will no longer have to wait up to 24 hours for their marks to be manually uploaded to their LMS training transcript.

The enhancement will require a slight adjustment to the Java settings on Learners’ computer and specific details will be detailed in the technical requirement document, otherwise there will be no change to how any learner would access or complete a SkillSoft course, and after April 8th, all learners can start benefiting from this improved functionality.

We would like to thank credit unions who assisted during the testing of this enhancement and who continually provide feedback on the development of improvements to our product and service offerings. We are committed to providing credit unions with the best learning experience every day. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as this enhancement is implemented.
